First day of our consortium meeting in the #EU #Horizon funded project "Evaluating, Identifying and Reducing determinants MHC in Youth" (#EARLY) with 19 partners from all over Europe 🌍. What a nice research team that is and thanks to our host Institute of Public Health at University of #Porto, #Portugal. The team of the Technische Universität München World Health Organization Collaborating Center for #HealthLiteracy (WHO CC HL) at the Department of Health and Sport Sciences, #TUM School of Medicine and Health is proud to be a member of this amazing and unique project. 🖖 Besides the #evaluation of #programs, we will also collect European-wide #population #mentalhealth #data in young people, including population #mentalhealthliteracy. This time our approach to mental health literacy will be based on both, the common/traditional models of mental health literacy and the new model that is based on the #healthliteracy conceptual framework developed by the European Health Literacy Survey consortium #HLSEU back in 2011. Dear friends and colleagues, We have just launched the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Literacy (WHOCC HL) at the TUM School of Medicine and Health, Department of Health and Sport Sciences at TUM. Thanks to Dr Faten Ben Abdelaziz and Dr Rüdiger Krech as well as Anastasia Koylyu from World Health Organization #HQ and World Health Organization #RegionalOfficeforEurope, respectively, and Dr Kristine Sørensen 🍀 from Global Health Literacy Academy for the support in the past four years while jointly working on #healthliteracy. In the next four years, we will be working on the: ☑ development of a WHO global survey and tool to assess population-level health literacy in WHO member states   ☑ development of WHO global survey and tool to assess school children's levels of health literacy ☑ development of WHO framework for health literacy competency standards for young people to navigate emergencies ☑ creation of knowledge to inform the development of an evidence-based WHO global agenda on health literacy I hope that many of you will join us at the WHOCC and actively contribute to our efforts to generate top-notch health literacy evidence to inform intervention and policy development, new studies and directions, and global collaborative action on health literacy.
