In 2023 we launched a global campaign that put a magnifying glass on the impact of macroeconomic factors like higher inflation on the cash flow and finances of small businesses. We surveyed over 4,500 small business owners to understand the impact of economic conditions on their operations. The findings became a series of Money Matters reports that were released in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Check out this summary of five challenging trends in these reports, another reminder how important it is that we collectively support small business to better manage their cash flow and get paid faster. #smallbusiness #xero

Recently I took part in a weekend to learn more about climate change, and the leadership required by us all to address it, arranged by the incredible Groundswell Giving team of Arielle Gamble, Anna Rose & Clare Ainsworth Herschell at the beautiful Spring Bay Mill. I left [to borrow from the podcast on the subject] with a sense of Outrage + Optimism, and determined to do more. For any of those awesome Small Businesses out there seeking to do the same this article from SmartCompany has some great tips on how #smallbusiness can use technology (including Xero-connected apps) to track carbon emissions, save energy and more. https://lnkd.in/ggfRDhiS #smallbusiness #climatechange

We’re celebrating 10 years working with Stripe to help small businesses get paid faster - thank you for the cupcakes! Small businesses tell me, and the data shows, chasing payments can be time consuming and costly. Late payments have an impact on cash flow, limiting a business’s ability to pay their suppliers, employees, or to grow their business. So I’m excited to share that Xero has expanded our global partnership Stripe, which will see us working together to deepen and expand the integration to help small businesses get paid faster and make better money decisions. #payments #smallbusiness #thankyou

Loved catching up with Two Drunk Accountants at #Xerocon for their podcast recently. Have a listen to our chat if you'd like to find out how Xero helps #smallbusinesses be sustainable and support cash flow challenges through payments and access to capital.

Last week I spent two energising days at #Xerocon Sydney, I loved the time with our customers and partners. The stages were huge, the excitement palpable - usurped only by the sense of community. I’m proud of the work we do in FS to make a genuine difference in the lives of small businesses and their advisors and this was highlighted in a number of ways during the event. Jacinta Nielsen from Deloitte, accountant and advisor Andrew Mattner and Simon Creighton, Waddle founder, joined me on a panel to discuss the funding gap for small business, and some of the ways accountants and bookkeepers can support access to capital. During the GoCardless breakout on the future of payments Danielle Smith shared the latest late payment research from the new XSBI Cash Flow Crunch report and delved into how solutions like PayTo will benefit small businesses in the future. My conversation with the inspiring Samantha Docking, who started her own firm Bosshub and has made a huge difference to cashflows for many small businesses, demonstrated the benefit of integrating payment options on invoices. And special thanks to Lowry Gladwell for once again commanding the stage like a pro hosting the Stripe breakout session fun payments quiz. To wrap up #Xerocon I chatted with Luke Fossett, Director ANZ at GoCardless about his experience - I love the #human perspective he brings and GoCardless’ new branding they unveiled first at Xerocon! #smallbusiness https://lnkd.in/dt7iNZWB
