Job hunting as an international student is HARD….. but I NEVER thought it would be this PAINFUL! LinkedIn family, please support me 🙏 In 2022, I convinced my family to let me move to the UK to study at the University of Hertfordshire. My parents sacrificed so much so I could move here. I want to make them proud, so I HAVE to make it BIG after graduating. My journey has been VERY challenging since I moved to the UK 💪 For the first 2 months, I couldn’t find a part-time job despite giving my 100%. I am now balancing university work, job applications and a demanding part-time job at Pret A Manger, which means I sometimes have to compromise on sleep. It’s now getting to a point where I am losing hope. Despite having relevant UK experience, I have received 400+ rejections…… 🤯 However, before leaving my family in Mumbai, India, I promised myself I WOULD NOT QUIT! I will NEVER give up on the dream to land a job in the UK 🇬🇧 So if you’re a UK employer reading this, here is what you are MISSING out on by NOT giving me a chance: ✅ I’ve completed a UK placement where I identified new revenue streams resulting in a 10% increase in monthly bookings ✅ I hold 2 first-class degrees in business, which gives me a strong foundation for operational roles ✅ I’m proficient in Advanced MS Excel, where I previously used it to analyse historical performance data contributing to a 30% increase in revenue ✅ I have strong negotiation skills, having previously negotiated agreements resulting in a 25% departmental revenue increase If you’re a UK start-up hiring for Operations, I’d LOVE to have a chat. Even 5 minutes of your time would CHANGE my life. I’m SUPER confident in my ability and am willing to work for FREE for the FIRST month. As advised by Farhoon Asim, I will NEVER ask for visa sponsorship until I’ve proven my value. If I do NOT exceed your expectations I will happily resign, no questions asked (you won’t have to FIRE me). If you’re an international student, please comment “DREAM” so 1000s of UK employers/recruiters see this and help me land my dream operations job 🙏

After clicking my first photograph in the UK after nearly six months of living here, I am confident of taking a giant leap and posting for the first time on LinkedIn. But getting straight to the point, what a journey it has been so far at Enactus Hertfordshire! Building a team from scratch and getting nominated for two awards and two projects for the national competition, working for only 3-4 months deserves a pat on our back. Even though we couldn't win anything at the Nationals of Enactus UK, we accomplished the following: - Finalists for Schroders Action4impact, led by Muhammad Osama Siddiqui and team. - Finalists for British Airways Better World, led by Gloria Pinto, Asish Veera Venkat Gopi Dokku and team. - Nomination for Driving Engagement and Community spirit award. - Nomination for Newcomers of the Year award. Also, in search of an internship at the Employability fair (which I haven't found yet), I received a Golden Ticket, which hopefully may present an opportunity for a 2-week internship at Enactus UK. I thank everyone that is a part of our team. I congratulate Enactus Durham for winning the nationals and hopefully winning the world cup later this year. Thanks to Amy Brereton, Bethany Mallett, Charlie Lea, and everyone involved at Enactus UK for hosting such an event. Also, a big thanks to Madeline Tan and Bobby Govind Pothabathula (BEng , MSc) for being the way you are, inspiring and motivating us. Lorena Jugo thanks for being our president and constantly pushing me to be a better person and a more confident individual than I was. We look forward to improving and making a change on this incredible journey. After all, it is all worthy of an experience! #team #experience #change #enactus #goherts
