If you haven't heard Gainsight has acquired Skilljar. No numbers were announced. Gainsight is a customer success platform. Interestingly, Skilljar has clients on the L&D - employee side. They are not exclusive customer training. It will be interesting to see whether Skilljar pivots to 100% customer training clients (many of the CT only - will have a few clients that do CT and Internal - that is common; what is not common is 100% exclusive - there are only a small handful with Eurekos, leading the pack) Whether you call your system customer training or customer education, they are the same. Skilljar They offer features such as assigned learning as a key component, especially on the metrics side. Skilljar notes that they get a lot of requests for this, especially with certification. Yes, totally understand around certification. But if I am buying a system for product training, and humanA knows about X in the product, why would they have to be assigned it? This isn't logical, nor makes any sense. Anyway, Yes, they have a certification capability and plenty of other vendors. Yes, they have AI content creators - and so do plenty of other vendors who are farther ahead. Honestly, I have yet to see anything in the Skilljar platform that is unique compared to the rest of the market in customer training/education, let alone those vendors who are combo - i.e., internal and external. Therefore, the buy makes no sense to me. I see it as a poor acquisition. Gainsight is no stranger to the learning system space. In 2023, they acquired Northpass. Gainsight is owned by Vista Equity Partners, a big player in the learning system market. VEP has a stake in Schoox, for example. At that time, Gainsight was valued at 1.1B USD. #skilljar
