When you begin a conversation with a prospect, once you get past the introductions, what is the first question you ask? What would you like to know? What will drive your next steps? What will help you help them? What is your goal? What will you say to them, "We are very interested?" Is your objective to extract their budget? Is your objective to request a use case or use cases from them? Are you asking them if they have ever done a use case before? And if not, are you willing to help them? Do you assume everyone has a learning system - especially very large companies? Do you assume that the person you speak to knows L&D or Training? Are you putting up any roadblocks? What should you be doing to help them achieve their objectives and get them to see a demo of your system? The demo will drive where you want to go. Do you follow up thanking them for speaking with you? Do you follow up by asking them what they would like to see in the demo and if they have any content so that you can upload it into the learning system ahead of time? Do you Enable them to see what it looks like in your system? Is the system pre-filled with dummy data, including fake humans? Are reports already set - including what data they can see with the courses or content they included? Are you offering them a way to explore? Can you provide a 30-day trial of your system - with the items they want or are unaware of but you offer? Do you thank them after the demo? Is it a generic e-mail or one from you? Is it created by AI or you? If you do none of these, you will never achieve the final result. Be Polite. Yes Friendly? Yes. Understanding? Yes Being Pushy? No Cutting them off when they are talking? NEVER Assuming? Never. If you honestly care about them - it will show. #sales #learningsystem #LMS #LXP #TDP #EDP #mentoring #coaching

How do I decide which AI-driven content creator in a learning system is best? a. What objectives do you want to achieve? I want to make sure that the content is right to the point, accurate (never assume, always verify), and that I can edit it—by adding or removing text, videos, other media, and links—via a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) window. b. Can anyone create content without having any background in learning and development or training - today, it is very common. Thus, a content creator must recognize and adapt to it. In other words, what is the learning curve here? c. What other AI capabilities are offered as part of the tool? Can you add AI-driven scenarios that align with the skills or skills or interests or whatever is the focus of your content? Synthetic Audio - i.e. AI audio AI-images - i.e., you type in a statement and output an AI-generated image Any other AI capabilities Can I add an assessment, quiz, evaluation, or whatever at any place within the content? Is it just text, or can I add other media as part of that quiz, too? What other languages can I create my content in? They all offer English, often as the primary. If this isn't relevant, then you can go ahead and skip it. However, if you want Canadian French, and they say French, they are not referring to you. Ditto on Portuguese or English (if the latter is Brazil or you want British English). Some vendors will offer these. The majority? Nope, not for content creation. Does the content creator have any text before you using it, or is it visible on the screen that states that AI may produce fake or false information? Always verify before accepting. It is shocking how many vendors do not have this, yet this is the #1 issue that plagues AI. Be aware. Up in the air, but some vendors love pushing out : AI avatars =—Honestly, I find them to be underwhelming. I've seen one vendor withheld because the Avatar couldn't pronounce the vendor's name correctly. Yeah, not a win here. In addition, depending on bandwidth, you could see a drop in matching lips to speech. Or you can see it immediately without any drop. #AI #content #creator #authoringtool #LMS #LXP #Internal #external #learningsystems #TDP #employees #customers #training #learning #learningandevelopment #HR

There is no clear, straight response to a question about explanation between the two types. Why? There are actually three types.

I’m testing an AI-generated summary feature for my blog posts. It’s a work in progress, but you can see its debut in my Top 10 Learning Systems post. The official launch will be in this week’s post. The summary highlights key takeaways for readers who prefer quick insights over reading the entire article. For subscribers - you will see the summary too. The summary is always on the top of the post. Then you will see the words "The Post" - this is the article itself. I’ll also be reviewing and summarizing my past year’s posts to expand this feature. Future Enhancements AI-Powered Search – A new tool allowing readers to ask questions and receive AI-generated responses related to the post. Accuracy Considerations – While I’ll manually review and refine the summaries for accuracy, the search function will be more automated—so keep that in mind. BlueSky Integration – The AI-driven updates will also be pushed to my BlueSky account, which I’ll be launching next week. I hope these additions enhance the reading experience. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks.

Blog Tomorrow - What is the difference between an LMS for internal training and one for external training. Gordon Johnson posted this inquiry a couple of weeks ago on LinkedIn. I thought it was about time to explain it from my perspective. But I won't stop at an LMS. Let's look at an LXP and a TDP—there is a big difference due to the target. The question, however, is what if you wish to use the LMS for internal and external tapping into the multi-tenant angle? It can be done by eliminating the need for many systems—LMS and LXP—at a company.
