But CoComelon and shows like it aren’t just entertainment—they’re engineered to hook, not help. 🎬 With rapid cuts every 1–2 seconds, relentless music, and hyper-speed dialogue, they hijack a child’s attention rather than develop it. 📉 A 2022 study in the Journal of Pediatrics found that even a few minutes of such content led to a visible drop in memory, self-regulation, and attention span. 🧠 Researchers at UCLA have linked excessive screen time in early years to delays in language, emotional development, and problem-solving. So what’s the alternative? 🌿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. At Eravoo Centre of Learning, learning unfolds in the rhythm of real life. In muddy toes and whispered winds. “𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺?” A few years ago, I watched a group of kids visit The Big Barn Farm. Bright-eyed, city-raised, and full of questions. They pointed at a cow and asked, “Is this where chocolate milk comes from?” We laughed. But the truth hit harder than the joke. These kids weren’t lacking intelligence. They were lacking exposure. They’d never seen where milk actually came from. Never touched soil. Never pulled a carrot from the ground. Their world was all screens, delivery apps, and textbooks. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲. What if learning could be rooted in experience, not just information? What if curiosity could be sparked by doing, not just listening? That question planted the seed for Eravoo Centre of Learning A preschool built on the belief that children learn best when they can see, feel, question, and explore the world around them. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 “𝘄𝗵𝘆” 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 “𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁.” 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Eravoo was born from the soil of The Big Barn Farm. 𝗪𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝘁—𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼. Last weekend, The Big Barn Farm had the privilege of hosting 17 visually impaired children from a public school, brought together by the incredible team at Vividha Foundations, for an overnight camp. It wasn’t just another camp. It was a masterclass in empathy, intuition, and uninhibited joy. They pitched tents by feeling the ground. They navigated using step counts and gentle cane taps. They listened—𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 listened—with more intent than we’re used to. 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁, 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲. From touch-and-feel exploration, petting our calmest dogs who seemed to know instinctively how to behave, to cooking, grilling, dancing and singing under the stars—these kids did it all with a confidence that left us humbled. We didn’t have to repeat instructions. We just had to respect their rhythm. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵—𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁. It reminded us that good communication is not about more talking—it’s about better listening. What they lacked in sight, they more than made up for with imagination, independence, and fierce spirit. To the 6 instructors from our team, the 3 incredible caretakers who came with them, and our 6 gentle farm dogs who melted into the group like magic—thank you. 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀. These children didn’t just participate—they led the experience. And I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built here. 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁? 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆. 𝗔 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯. After training sessions of students looking for jobs at Skill Bot, I have realised that the students who bag their dream job have learnt 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆. If you’re stuck in the ‘𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆. 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁.’ cycle, here’s the truth—your resume isn’t the problem. It’s whether you’re job-ready. Top recruiters don’t just look at degrees. They look for:  𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙨 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮? (Try debating, public speaking, or simply articulating thoughts better.)  𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤? (Start small—solve a real-world issue today.)  𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙮? (The job market evolves—stay ahead.) Opportunities don’t just happen—you prepare for them. Which skill are you building today?

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻. This was the heart of my TEDx talk at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur—a place that so many dream of, and one that continues to shape the next generation of leaders. In my talk, I spoke about the invisible conditioning we all carry—𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀 since childhood.
