So, three years ago I left a job that I'd had for 18 years to explore something new. I went to Jordan School District with the chance to be the administrator over digital learning, something I'd wanted to do for a long time. It was a scary transition as I'd been out of a school district for so long, but we got to work. I've got the best team anyone could ask for and the teachers of the district are amazing! Earlier this week our hard work was recoginized at JSD was awarded the ISTE Distinguished District Award for 2024. This is such a HUGE recognition for the tremendous efforts of Jordan and all the other amazing edtech/technology departments throughout Utah. We've been at this work for a long time and it's wonderful to see that acknowledged in our space. I'm overwhelmed at the support I've received from all of my colleagues across Utah and beyond. The edtech world is so incredible and I love being part of such a dedicated group of educators. I can't say it loud enough how grateful I am for the JSD team and all the work they do for the teachers of Jordan! I am so blessed to have the support of our Superintendent, School Board, Cabinet, and the administration of the Teaching and Learning department in Jordan. Three years ago I stepped into uncharted waters and took a chance on myself. Don't ever undersell your value. We can all make a difference! Take a chance and you can be part of something wonderful!
